LOST

I haven't been posting about Lost lately but I am still enjoying it more then ever. I am not enjoying the new time slot though!!!! 10:00 is too late...and then I am too excited when it is over to fall right to sleep!!!

Anyway...it is on tonight at 10! Enjoy!

Skating

We ventured out yesterday and went skating on the Rideau Canal. We are really lucky living in Ottawa to have such an awesome skating rink but we hardly ever use it. Sad really. But we went yesterday and the weather was great. Not too cold. The kids had a blast. Noah fell a few times and landed on the same elbow every time!! I admit I fell once and landed on my butt...it really hurt. But fun was had by all. We are going to try and go more often and take advantage of the world's longest skating rink!!

Lent

So...my good friend Jodie sent out an e-mail yesterday saying that she was going to give up chocolate for Lent. She asked for our support as she did this and if any others would like to give up something for Lent too. Well...the girls have all gotten behind Jodie and a good number of us have all given up something. A lot of chocolate, sweets, regular pop, coffee...one girl has even given up all eating out for 6 weeks (she is single and eats out quite often). I have given up chocolate and chips...I LOVE chips...especially Ketchup Pringles (they are great).
At the end of the 6 weeks we are to donate the money we would have spent on these items to the youth of our corps...very exciting. We have just hired a youth pastor to our church so I am sure he is excited about what we are giving up!
Anyway....6 weeks is a long time...but I know we can all do it!!!!

Ear Plugs

Since Christmas I have developed a sleeping issue. I am having trouble falling asleep and staying asleep. One of the problems is Rob's snoring!! For the last 2 months he has been sleeping in Noah's bottom bunk. He has decided he wants to sleep in our bed again!! SO...I have started using ear plugs. I really did not like them at first but I am slowly getting used to them. For 3 nights in a row we have slept in the same bed and I have slept through the night. I did wake up around 5 and one ear plug was missing...still can't find it??? But we have both felt rested...so I guess I am stuck with the plugs!!

The Amazing Race

The Amazing Race: All Stars premiered tonight. I love The Amazing Race and I was very excited that they were doing an All Star edition. My favorite team would have to be Rob and Amber. I know a lot of people do not like them...I personally love them. I have loved them since Survivor.

The show was successful tonight I think. I have been pretty disappointed with the last few seasons but this one is looking to be a good one.

Good job Martin Gerber....he got a shut out against the Florida Panthers last night....4-0!!!!!

Too bad our great city could not play a home game on tv for us to watch it...way to go Ottawa!!!!!!!

Suspended

Ray..what were you thinking?

Ray Emery has been suspended for 3 games for slashing Maxim Lapierrre of the Montreal Canadiens. Read more here.

I personally love Ray Emery....He saved a ton of goals that night and played really well. I think he made the wrong choice with the slashing and he deserved the suspension...it just sucks because I really don't like our back up goalie...Martin Gerber. Hopefully he can pull out some wins for the next 3 games...and thankfully Emery will be back before our games with Buffalo.

This is where I should be today

I should have stayed in bed. I feel horrible. I was up most of the night coughing and sneezing...so now I am still coughing and sneezing AND exhausted!!! I felt too guilty to call in sick though...it puts out 4 families instead of just me...so I am working and doing my best to keep my patience with the children....who seem to be acting very rotten today!!!!!

Fixed

So...Rob fixed the computer but for some reason I still cannot get into blogger to post anything. I am down on the basement computer (freezing).
Today is a PA day and all the kids are here. It is very nice that I do not have to go to school 3 times today. It is pretty cold out. We just finished decorating valentines cookies and making valentines cards. They had fun. We are also having pajama day...I am even in mine...I LOVE wearing pj's!!!!!!
Rob is going away tonight to get ready for a ski marathon tomorrow. He has to ski 13 km at one time and then if he is still alive he has to do another 18 km after that. He has only cross country skied 2 other times...2 weeks ago to get ready for this. He is going to be exhausted. He is also coming down with a cold (so am I)...I hope is comes home in one piece. Although...he said if he broke his leg he could stop skiing!!!!!! :)
Anyway....not many plans for the weekend...Rob won't be home until late tomorrow. It is already time to register for soccer though...spring will be here before we know it !!! :)

Dead Computer

So our lap top completely died. I turned it on on Friday and a black screen came up with these words: "Operating System not found" AHHHHHHHH
Dead...gone for good!
Our great friend Glenn gave Rob a hard drive to put into it...Rob is trying to do that right now. I am currently forced to used the desk top in the freezing basement. If you do not see a lot of posts in the coming days it is because my hands are frozen to the keyboard. I don't come down here often this time of year. When the people before us finished the basement ceiling (with really nice pine wood) the took out all the ducts...NO HEAT coming in!!! COLD!!!!!!

Anyway...we went on a great retreat with the church last week...I will post more about that soon. I am off to bed (there was not a lot of sleeping at this retreat...again I will explain later!!!) I am exhausted!
