Good Weekend

We had a busy weekend and Rob and I spent very little of it together. Friday night was spent doing errands and having Subway for dinner. Saturday morning, I left at 6:45 for Toronto with my Mom and Dad. We had a family 50th wedding anniversary to attend. Rob decided to stay homw tih the kids so they could go to thier swimming lessons. It was also a lot of time in the car that they kids would not have appreciated.
We arrived at Ian and Lauren's place at 11:00 where we quickly changed and then packed all 5 of us in the car for another 2 hours. (Have I mentioned yet that I hate being in the car?) We then spend 3 hours at this anniversary party. I must admit the first 2 hours were kinda slow. It did pick up at the end when we actually got to talk to some family. These are people we have not seen for about 8 years. It was good for my Mom to be able to reconnect.
We got back in the car then and drove back to Toronto where we met up with My Aunt Dorothy, Uncle Al and Stephanie at Lone Star. A good meal was had...by me anyway...Mom and Dad did not enjoy thiers. We spent the night at Ian and Lauren's and then after a very yummy breakfast made by Lauren we returned to Ottawa.
The kids met me at the door wanting to go for a bike ride, so we rode to the park and then to Wendy's for dinner.
The kids and Rob survivied without me...although they did not eat dinner until 10:00 pm on Saturday!!!!!!! Shocking!
It was good to get home and be with them again.
Thanks for all your driving Dad...next time I will tell Mom I saw the dead animal too!

LOST was AWESOME!!!

I don't even know where to begin but to say that LOST was everything we were hoping for in a finale. 2 hours of this was a little intense though. I had a hard time falling asleep after!
Some highlights for me were:
*Desmond comes back in a sailboat that everyone thought was there to rescue them. Apparently he kept going in circles and always ended up back at the island.
*Michael gets everyone on the list (Jack, Kate, Sawyer and Hurley) to go with him to "save Walt" but Jack figured it out and confronted him half way there. They were captured anyway.
*We find out that it is not the guy with the fake beard but Henry (the one Michael let go) that is in the fact the leader of "The Others".
* Henry followed through with his agreement and reunited Michael and Walt. He put them on a boat and told them if they followed some coordinates that they would get home. Michael left without much thought of his friends that were still being held captive.
*Henry sent Hurley back to camp to tell everyone to never look for them again. He then told Hurley that they were the good guys??? and that they were keeping Jack, Sawyer and Kate with them.
*Desmond finally believes that the button they are pushing is for real and they should have pushed it. He takes the key that will destroy the whole hatch and uses it. It apparently blows up??
*In the very end we see 2 guys in a cabin in the snow waiting to detect magnetic activity. Right after the explosion...they detect some and make a call to the girl Desmond was with 3 years ago.
That is how it ended...with many lose strings and a storyline that could go anywhere. We will be guessing all summer on what will happen in the fall.

This is really a great show. I am sorry of I ruined it for anyone. And yes I know I am a bit addicted to it...but hey, it's better then drugs!!!

LOST

I forgot to mention in my earlier post that tonight is the finale for LOST and I cannot wait. I will post tomorrow to tell you my thought on it!!

cable out

So a tradition in our house this time of year is for the 4 of us to sit down on a Tuesday night and watch American Idol together. We were all set to do this last night. At about 7:45 the cable went out. Our whole complex was out. It came back on at 8:55. Emily was not impressed. She is the biggest fan of the show. Noah just likes that he gets to stay up until 9:00 pm!! Anyway...we called Nana and Grandad and they taped it for us...but I still missed watching it with the kids last night. We have some good talks and even just be silly all together. We like to be the judges and say how we think that they did. We always disagree on who we like. Rob likes Taylor this year...he has from the start. Noah was a Kelly Pickler fan and Emily was an Ace Young fan. Myself...I liked Chris Daughtry.

After the kids went to bed, Rob and I watched Ladder 49. We had never seen it. I really liked it but I found the ending very depressing.

We are going to try and watch more movies this summer now that all our shows are ending. Can you reccommend some that you like?

Long Weekend

My brother and sister in law...Ian and Lauren, came down for a visit this weekend. We were able to spend some good quality time with them. Emily and Noah love being with them. They took Noah to see Over the Hedge (Emily was at a sleepover and she saw it too). We played some family games like UNO and Pictionary Jr. with the kids and then played a good game of Poker.
We spent a lot of time with family and doing some chores around the house. I love those kind of weekends!!
How did you spend yours?

Great night of TV

Wow...great tv tonight. It started with the Amazing Race. We only watched the first hour because we wanted to watch LOST. We taped the last hour of Amazing Race...but we kept flipping to it at commercials...so we know who won. The hippies rock!! We didn't see how they got there first...I will watch that tomorrow...but I am glad they did!
LOST was amazing. It is getting into lots of details on lots of characters. It is almost hard to keep up with where they are going. The suspence is unlike any other show that we watch. Next week is a 2 hour finale...I don't know if I can handle 2 hours!!

Anyway...hope I didn't ruin the ending for anyone!!
Have a good night

Great Mothers Day

I had a great Mothers Day. Emily and Noah got up and with Rob's help they made me french toast for breakfast. They cut it up the french taost so it said We love you. It was adorable and delicious!! Emily also cut up some bananas and strawberries and grapes for a fruit platter for me. It was a great way to start the day. They made a placemat and some cards as well. I have great kids!! I felt very loved!

How was you Mothers Day?

Happy Mothers Day

To all of the mothers that read this...HAPPY MOTHERS DAY!!!
I hope you have a relaxing,fun day!

On another note...yes we are very depressed today. A short handed overtime goal was not the way we wanted the game to end...or the series for that matter! The sens are finished for this year. Now my stress level and my blood pressure will return to normal and we will get ready to cheer again next year. I will never stop cheering for my team!!!

WE WON!!!

Thank you Wade Redden for the winning goal in the second and Ray Emery for all the awesome saves!!!
GO SENS GO!!!

"sigh"

so, I have not posted for a few days because of my disappointment in the hockey games. Don't get me wrong, I am NOT disappointed with my team...just the games in general. Ryan Miller (the goalie for Buffalo) has had a ton of lucky saves and that has resulted in 3 straight loses for us. BUT...being a die hard fan, I still believe we can win 4 straight to win the series!! GO SENS GO!!

On a totally different note, my allergies are driving me crazy!! I heard on the news that the pollen count is double what is usually this year and my allergies are double what they usually are too!! I can hardly sleep and I am exhausted. I guess if I paid for my allergy shots it might get better!!

That's it for now

A clean up weekend

We decided to do some cleaning this weekend. Rob did some grouting on the bathroom and got that finished so after 4 months I finally have my downstairs bathroom back!! YAY!!!!! He is probably going to do the hallway and kitchen on May long weekend and then our floor project from you know where will finally be over!!
While he was doing that Emily and I decided to tackle her bedroom. It was disgusting! To put some perspective on it for you...it took her 30 min just to bring the stuff from under her bed to the middle of the room. I threw out 3 bags of garbage fom her room. We can now see the carpet and everything has a place. I dared her to see how long it will stay that way!!! I did Noah's room myself...way easier that way. I got 2 more bags of garbage out of his room. I LOVE throwing stuff out!

On Sunday we had the ususal routine. The kids had a youth service on Sunday afternoon. They both sang with Shout and did a great job!!

Tonight is game # 2 against Buffalo. We are going to play better tonight and pull a win off!! I have faith in my team!
GO SENS GO!!

WHAT????

WOW...what a high scoring game...a fast paced game... and a very disappointing ending. With 10 seconds left in the third period, Buffalo tied the game. 18 seconds into the overtime Buffalo scored. ARGHHHHHHHHH! How frustrating.
But...it was just game one and we were bound to lose some games. We will come back on Monday with a win!!

Music Camp

The kids had beginners band last night. They are doing really well. Emily has a really nice sound and Noah is trying!! He is younger then her and just doesn't want to put in the effort like she does. Emily will be going to Music camp for the first time this summer and I am a little nervous about it. I remember music camp and some of the things we used to get away with!! But not even that...as a mom I worry that she will not brush her teeth or take a shower. I know I know...silly!! I also know that alot of lifelong friendships were made at Music camp. They were great times as a teen and younger. I know it will be great for her. It is killing Rob that she wants to take vocal though. She loves to sing and doesn't feel as confident in her playing as her singing. WIth Rob being such a brass band guy...he doesn't understand the vocal side of camp. Honestly, I always took instrumental too but she is determined to sing!!
What are your favorite music camp memories? Sue...alot of my memories have Nick in them I must admit!!

good weekend

We had another great weekend...espically the weather!! It was fabulous. High's of 18 all weekend!
Our kids spent Friday night at my parents so we could go over and help Kim and Stephan start thier move into thier new house. They have a really nice place!! Because the kids were at my parents we got to sleep in on Saturday...I LOVE sleeping in! We did have to get up because it was parents day at swimming and then we went back to Kim and Stephan's to help some more.
Saturday night was very stressful. We watched a very exciting hockey game at Robyn and Mike's. I will admit that I was very stressed out and that I actually cried at the end when they won! I know, I am a freak.
Sunday was church and then the usual grocery shopping (yes...I do it Sunday...there is no other time). Rob cleaned out the backyard ...it looks awesome.
Anyway...that was our boring weekend...how was yours?
