Emily won!

Last night was the Merkel/Simpson award night at the church. The merkel award is for the YP band and the Simpson award is the singing company award...our group is called Shout. The awards are for kids that show improvement over the year...they have grown spiritually...they participate...mentor other kids that may be new or less experienced then themselves...things like that. Well, Emily won the Simpson Award this year. She was very excited and proud of herself. We were very proud of her as well. She had decided after last year being so disappointed when she didn't win, that she was going to try her very best this year to win. We have told her throughout the year that even if she didn't win, she would be proud that she had put in her best effort this year. Good job Emily!!

The weekend in general was a success. We woke Saturday morning and the rain had stopped!! God was listening! Although we should have asked for some sun as well. It was freezing. We went ahead with the car wash/yard sale/BBQ. It was cold. We were supposed to run it from 11-4 but we shut down at 2. The kids hands were freezing doing the car wash...and we were just plain cold!
The event was a success though. We aimed for $500.00 and we ended up raising over $1600.00. WOW!!!

We were very proud of our IN Step (beginners band)group as well. They played for the first time at the service last night. The rocked!! They played so well. We were very proud. For those of you that know my dad...he played for the first time last night in public. He did great. I am very proud Dad!!!

Wow! Look at Glenn! I haven't seen that guy in ages.

And I think it's great that your Dad is learning to play too.

Congraultations Emily!!!

Way to go Emily! We are very proud of you and your ability to rise above the downfalls of your fathers vocals. You Rock! I was also delighted to see your brother as happy as if he had won the award when your name was called out. It's awesome to have a brother support you so much.

As amazing as your father did, I thought the guy in the back row beside your him..you know the one with a stunning sense of fashion and rugged good looks...played exceptionally well. His buzzin' technique has obviously been forged from many years of practicing the Gaussian Siren. You must be truly blessed to have such committed and talented volunteers.

Whew...you said it all...what an exhausting weekend!

SO PROUD OF YOU EMILY! You deserve it, girl!

In Step was terrific! Ken Moore even gave Rob the stamp of approval for his buzz technique. Well done!

I thought you and Rhonda played well, too. :) Does this mean that you will learn horn and come back in the senior band?

Great weekend, and ...

...it's over!

PS: rugged good looks guy posted exactly seven minutes after Steve...talk about curious...
