Band concert
Emily had her first school band concert last week. She did great. I got there 50 min before the concert was to start and we had to sit 3 row from the back. the seats sucked. We could not see Emily at all (as you can tell from the picture!!)....but we could hear them!! We were very proud of her for doing so well in music.

Poor Noah
Noah came home from school yesterday and told me he had fallen and hurt his knew at school. Now being the mother of a boy...this happens often...falling and getting hurt. Usually there is not even a mark. So...bring the great mother that I am...I ignored it till later. Then he showed me his knee. WOW....he was right...he hurt his knee. Right above his knee cap was swollen and purple...probably the size of my fist. So we put some ice on it for a bit and gave him the cuddle that I should have given him when he got home. Sorry Noah!!
I will try and take a picture when he gets home after school!

They did it!!
Every year around this time the Salvation Army puts on a concert to thank the community for all they have done over the past year. We do it at the local theater called Centerpointe Theater. It is a pretty big deal and everyone works really hard to put on a good performance. "Shout" has been singing there in the afternoon performance for 5 years now. They did an amazing job!!! Emily sang a duet with her best friend Baylie...brought a tear to my eye. Both Emily and Noah had volunteered to say lines during one of the songs...which for Noah is a HUGE thing. He hates speaking in front of people. They had to memorize the lines and they were both really nervous about it. Noah looked like he would throw up right on stage!!!! Emily was first and did great...a little fast, (the crowd had a bit of a chuckle!!) and then it was Noah's turn...he did great...he got every word right!!! The tears were flowing then...I couldn't help myself...I was so proud of them both!!! The whole group did well!! Good job guys!

Chestnuts roasting on an open fire
Jack Frost nipping at your nose
Yule-tide carols being sung by a choir
And folks dressed up like Eskimos.
Everybody knows a turkeyand some mistletoe
Help to make the season bright
Tiny tots with their eyes all aglow
Will find it hard to sleep tonight.
They know that Santa's on his way
He's loaded lots of toysand goodies on his sleigh
And every mother's child is gonna spy
To see if reindeerreally know how to fly.
And so I'm offering this simple phrase
To kids from one to ninety-two
Although it's been saidmany times, many ways
Merry Christmas to you.

Florida Panthers
My son has chosen not to cheer for The Senators :( and to cheer instead for any team that Gary Roberts is on. He happens to be on the Florida Panthers at the moment. Rob and Noah went to the game last night and thanks to Steve they were able to meet Gary again. Noah got his jersey signed and was in awe of him! Thank you Steve for making a dream come true for Noah!!
The picture turned out a little blurry but still a keepsake!!Snow Day
Well Emily has been waiting for this since she started school in September...buses are cancelled today. She knew last year that there was a chance I would take them anyway depending on how bad the weather is. Not this year...she is an official bus student and more then 80% of her class takes the bus, so there will be no one in her class. Not to mention I cannot get her there with all the other kids here.
It is my fault really that the buses are cancelled. I sent out an e-mail to all my daycare parents yesterday about bus cancellations. I told them that if buses are cancelled then I would be keeping all the kids home. I am not wiling to take the risk and take out a 1, 2, 4, 6 and 8 year old out in freezing rain. Someone is bound to fall and get hurt. I would rather keep them in and have a fun day! So, that is what we are doing today. We will do our first Christmas craft of the season!
Have a great day and be safe!
